We are excited to welcome to St. Louis Catholic Academy, Ms. Sandra Morton. Principal Morton brings a wealth of educational experience to SLCA, both as a teacher and administrator. The bulk of this experience comes from her various roles at Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School. She taught high school Grammar and Composition and Introduction to Business for 4 years. Principal Morton also served in administration as Dean of Students for 6 years and as Director of Admissions for 3 years. She is currently working toward a Master of Education in Educational Administration, with an emphasis in School Administration at the University of Missouri in St. Louis.

St. Louis Catholic Academy chooses a theme every school year. This year’s theme is “We are ambassadors for Christ.” Our goal is to help our students discover the love of God through Christ and create good citizens for the community. To help us accomplish this goal and in keeping with our theme we will be implementing the Virtue Based Restorative Discipline principles for behavior. You can read more about this program in this newsletter. We also are implementing a multi-grade “House” program. We have established several “Houses” where students from all grade levels will be assigned to a various House. The Houses will meet at least monthly and do activities together. The 7th and 8th graders will assume leadership roles as well. The House program will encourage leadership, community and full student engagement. These two programs will assist us in implementing and developing a strong curriculum that will accommodate all students for learning in and out of the classroom.

Ms. Morton is honored to be the new principal for St. Louis Catholic Academy, and is committed to working with students, families and staff to create an extraordinary learning experience for every student.
